Happy Diwali
Diwali is the biggest Hindu celebration in the world because Diwali is known everywhere around the world. Diwali tells us a story about a war that happened long before we were born. The Diwali celebration is from the 18 October and it ends on the 22 October, so we are very fortunate to have a lot of days to celebrate Diwali.
We are lucky enough to have a celebration like this, I really like Diwali because there would be lots of sweets made on the day. I think that we should make it a public holiday because it is an important festival. In Hindu culture they prepare their things before the celebration in order to be ready on the day. I think that Diwali is a special celebration because it unites together sisters and brothers to give each other gifts. In the Hindu way they wake early in the morning to clean their houses, they clean theirs houses for a reason and that reason is so the Gods can come into their houses because the Gods would not come into an unclean home. During the celebration they light fireworks.
Today we drew our final rangoli designs outside with chalk and I had a lot of fun, for me I was really amazed by other students designs. They were so creative. Diwali is a Hindu festival of lights that everyone celebrates. There were so many different types of rangoli designs, it was all so beautiful. I could not choose my favorite in fact all were my favorites. There are many kinds of way making it, one way is by drawing on concrete with chalk and another way is to use powder and broken rice.
I have learnt so much about Diwali, I never knew before that Diwali was the biggest Hindu festival but I now know. What I was really amazed about was how you could make it with powder and broken rice, so that was one interesting fact I found out in my learning of Diwali.
