This was our first activity of the day and it was really cold when we went into the classroom. In the 1853 the schools were very strict because when they do something wrong then the teacher will smack then with the long hard stick on their bottom.
I am a Year 8 student at Glen Innes School in Auckland, New Zealand. I am in Room 8 and my teacher is Ms Ramkolowan.

Out door games- 1845
Our third activity was out door games I really enjoyed it because it was my first time to walk on those stick things. There were a lot of outdoor games that you could play back then when we were not even born. My favorite outdoor game is the stick because you can learn if it is your first time playing on those.
Toys- back then
Our last activity was toys, what I enjoyed from playing with the toys back then was because it was gravity that moved the toys. When we sat down the teacher talked to us about her special ball that was made out of cane, I thought that it was made out of flax because it looked just like flax. My favorite toy was the ring toy, the reason why I like that toy was because you had to try and aim for a stick but each had a point so if you got te highest point then you win.
Butter making- 1840
On tuesday the senior students of Glen Innes went to the place called Howick Historical Village. It was really exciting for me because it was my first time at this place, as we got there we got into our groups and then we went of to do our activities. Making butter was our second activitie and I enjoyed making butter because we each got to have a turn to tchun the butter. At the end of our making butter session the teacher that was teaching us said that we could get it when we go so that we can taste our own butter that we made ourselves.

Improving in subjects
In the last few months we have been doing our e-asttle test on reading, maths and writing. I was nervous when we set the test for the maths and reading and writing. As we were setting the test, it was very nervous for me when we started the test.
Firstly reading I know I progressed because I moved from a 4B to a 4A I am really proud of myself. What I need to work on next is to try and get a 5A but if I want to move in a level 5A then I need to read in my own time like at home or at school.
Secondly maths I have a feeling that I have improved a little bit since I moved from a 3P to 4B but I still need to to get to the year 8 standard and I need to learn everything that I need to learn that have something to do about maths. What I think I need to learn next is fractions that is the major issue in my maths and also decimals and percentages.
Lastly writing, I have succeeded in writing because I skipped from 1P to 1A and then to 3B it was a big improvement but there still something that I need to learn so that I can be on a 5A or a 4A. I need to learn how to write an explanation writing and I also need to learn what to write about when I am writing an explanation writing.
And here we have the ending, I have talked about how I improved and what proof I have that I have succeeded in all subjects. I also have talked about what I need to work on next time and what I am going to do in my own ar spare time. Next time I will try to remember what I need to work on these subjects when I have nothing to do at home.

Matriki Maths
In maths we have been learning how to find the angles in shape. We also had to create shapes that has three sides or more than three sides, for me it was tricky because we had to find a shape of each. What I want to learn next is how to find the vertices of a shape.

Physical and chemical changes
Today we went to a science road show and we learnt about physical changes and chemical changes it was awesome experience, everyone enjoyed it. The girl from the science road show demonstrated about the elephant toothpaste compare to human toothpaste it was cool. The lady in the picture above showed us what elephant toothbrush is made of.
Flying ball
After the show we moved on to the first one and it was like a flying ball but that what i call it. The reason why i call it the flying ball is because when you lift the bowling ball and then you drop it, it will push the air and the air will push the ball and the ball will go flying up in the air.
Probability online games
These games helped me to get a clear understanding of probability. The game that was really confusing and I didn't get a clear understanding was the game number 4. Game number 2 was to difficult because it was moving way too fast. What I learnt from these probability games is that it is all about guessing. I think I am working on a level 3 for probability. I found it kind of hard at first but as I was playing the games I started to get a better understanding of probability.
